Food Ingredients that Provide Natural Arthritis Cures

Arthritis is a condition of chronic pain experienced in the joints of the body like the knee, hands, hips, and neck.  Just as there are over a hundred kinds of arthritis and there is no specific single cure for arthritis.  A doctor can prescribe a different program for the arthritis cure of each of patient.  But while no two programs could be identical, there seems to be a common kind of diet that can be prescribed to help manage arthritis pain and inflammation:  a high-fiber, low salt and fat diet that is characteristic of what is known as the Mediterranean Diet.

Here are recipe suggestions that maximize food ingredients that provide natural arthritis cures:

Tsatsiki:  a yogurt based sauce used in Greek gyros. Yogurt has anti-inflammatory properties.
Squeeze out the water from a grated cucumber.  Then stir in yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper.  Use tsatsiki as base for meats in gyros, or Greek-style rolled sandwiches.

Grilled Salmon with Strawberry-Mango Dressing:  Salmon is high with Omega-3 essential fatty acids.  Strawberries and mangoes are high in Vitamin C.  These have anti-inflammatory properties.  Season salmon fillet with skin on with sprinkling of salt and pepper and olive oil then grill till desired doneness.  Whisk together extra virgin olive oil and a combination of pureed strawberries and mangoes.

Honey-Lemon and Ginger Tea:  Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties
Steep slices of ginger in boiling water for about 3-5 minutes.  Add in honey and lemon to taste.

These are rough ideas on how to approach food cooking the Mediterranean way.  The best approach to arthritis cures is to include a lot of fruits and vegetables, eat a lot of white meats like chicken and fatty fish, and minimize on salts and sugars.  Partner a healthy eating plan with regular exercise and arthritis pain can be successfully managed.  Take in a lot of water to keep the fluids in the joints hydrated and prevent the bones from bumping against each other.  Minimize stress and relax but don’t forget to move.  Moderation in all things is key to living with chronic arthritis pain.
